Amazing Grace Solo Version

Well, things have been jumping round here but I wanted to
get you some more material to work on. This time it's a nice
version of a song everyone knows. This will be great to play
when someone says, "hey, play me something on that thing"

The melody is pretty straight but I have used some chord substitutions
to give us a cool and interesting sound when played solo. The trick to playing
solo tunes is getting bass notes ringing in there to fill out the holes.
On this arrangement I have stolen a trick from the great Mike Auldridge.
His arrangement of "Killing Me Softly" had the bottom "G" string tuned down to "E".
This is the tuning I used here. Thanks Mike !!

The 6th sting tuned down to "E" gives us an E minor 7th chord when you rake across the whole 6 strings. If you don't hit the bottom string, it's business as usual. When you do play a chord with the bottom string in there you'll get the minor chord sound.

Anyway, back to "Amazing Grace". The ending has a pretty chord Classical guitar sound to it, you should have fun with. If you play at an intermediate level you should have this down in a week or so and about two weeks for beginners. (Your results may vary, offer not good in NY State)

Have a ball and I'll see you out there on the workshop trail !!
